Fine hotel for short stay only.

Clean room with fridge. TV in room with access to apps such as YouTube. Shower had good water pressure and hot water. 7/11 below hotel for buying water and light snacks. Bus stop within short walking distance.

Staff abrupt throughout whole stay, they do not acknowledge guests. Room is extremely over priced for what you receive! Bathroom is wet room style, once in the shower the whole bathroom gets soaked including the toilet. AC unit in the room terrible, not powerful enough to cool the room (we asked reception staff for a fan but they couldn’t accommodate). Horrible smell in hotel lobby and lift.

Hotel was adequate for staying whilst on business. Would certainly not recommend it for holidaying

Room was adequate for my requirements. Location was convenient for me. No facility for breakfasts

I didnt like that there was no place to have a breakfast within the hotel. It was also not suitable to dine out as there was no local restaurants that catered for English, Italian or Indian cuisine.

There is a bus at the door, the bus is convenient, clean. Fortunately, there is a small 7-11 downstairs, some light food is available.

Good value for money hotel. We booked this hotel for 1 night for relatives to stay and it was seamless & very convenient. There's a coffeeshop right next door, and lots of food options nearby too.

Get in the room tired, bathe and just sleep. Turn on some soothing yogo music and sleep.

No windows. I booked it as I was travelling solo and the price of hotels in Singapore is ridiculous. I was prepared not to expect anything much from Hotel 81, just some dodgy stares from other occupants who seemed high on some substance. I was prepared to hear thumping noises from around but it was unexpectedly quiet, which was good. I know the neighbourhood well as I grew up around there, good for solo self reflecting walks at night.

Dodgy stares from other occupants who seemed high on some substances. Their eyeballs were just fixated in blank spaces. Not high on alcohol definitely as this I could tell. Even when the doors open, they still can't seem to know that they have reached the ground floor.

The stay was good, the Malay staff provided an excellent service

The Malay staff provided good service but the Chinese staff was rude.

On 29th Oct '22 nite, upon check-in, I'm surprised by the Chinese staff insistence of my foreign wife to provide the "Sg Arrival email" response from the ICA. MY wife tried explaining that she arrived in Sgp on 15th Oct and not 29th Oct, so she'll have difficulty to retrieve the ICA email. The Chinese staff response "I Don't Care" whatever reason you have. Luckily, she managed to retrieve the ICA email. What I didn't like was a staff response with "I don't care" attitude, it's very rude and as a guest, I didnt like such response.

My honest review of Hotel 81 Kovan

The staff was ok as we were accepted earlier than usual.

We saw a male underwear which was left inside the drawer. Only 1 bottle of water was inside the room. Last time it was 2 bottles. No extra toilet paper.
